Ahh, shit! You booked a Boudoir session, now what? No worries, babe, I got you and I’ll hold your hand the whole way! Start with these tips and we’ll be sure to have a successful Boudoir session!

Firstly, CONGRATULATIONS on taking the initiative to spoil and empower yourself! Now let’s get to planning!

I like to recommend browsing Pinterest for your favorite boudoir poses to help get those posing juices flowing, feel free to share your board with me so I can get a feel for your comfort level and vision (Don’t worry, I will pose you during the session). Figure out your vibe, are you more soft and cozy or bold and sultry?

Next, start planning your outfits! Plan to bring 2-3 outfits, and do not forget about the shoes and accessories! Pick outfits that make you feel confident and sexy. If you are sensitive about your midsection, pick outfits that avoid attention to that area. You don’t have to only wear lingerie for boudoir shoots. You can wear your favorite vintage T-shirt with some fishnet stockings, or a comfy pajama set, oversized sweater, sports jersey, your partner’s uniform, just a sheet, or nothing at all! (gasp!) Be creative, but don’t stray too far from your comfort zone. Accessories include, but are not limited to: jewelry, scarves, handcuffs, coffee cup, nipple tassels, sunglasses, wine bottle, hats, and long gloves. Use your imagination! I have compiled an amazon list of some great outfits, shoes, and accessories ideas! Check it out here!

For the week leading up to your session, make sure you are drinking lots of water, exfoliating, moisturizing, shaving/waxing, getting a manicure and pedicure, and avoiding getting sunburnt. Please avoid spray tans close to your session. This is also a good time to remove all tags from your outfits, including the permanent ones. I also recommend stretching a little bit for a couple of days leading up to your session. You will be holding poses that require the use of muscles that don’t get used very often—if you’re anything like me! 😛

The night before your session, pack a bag with some essentials like makeup for touchups (especially lipstick and powder), a hairbrush, hairspray, and lotion. Don’t forget to pack your outfits, shoes, and accessories, too!

For the day of, exfoliate and moisturize. Make sure the bottoms of your feet are clean—they will be seen in pictures. Don’t forget to eat a light meal before you come. Avoid wearing white deodorant, and avoid wearing anything restricting, including hair ties around your wrist. I recommend coming in a hoodie or t-shirt, and loose-fitting sweats. No bra, underwear, or socks, as these leave indents on your skin and can sometimes be hard to remove in post-processing.

When you arrive, I want you to BREATHE. Chances are you suddenly got nervous about your shoot—totally normal! I will do everything in my power to make you feel at ease, promise.

Can’t wait to work with you!

What is Boudoir Photography?
Boudoir Photography is a specialized form of portrait photography that focuses on your sensual side and highlights your more intimate features. The purpose is to make you feel sexy and empowered, whether the images are for yourself or a partner.

Is hair and makeup included?

At this time, I do not offer hair and makeup services.

Do you share my images?
I take your privacy very seriously. I want to make sure you feel comfortable and I would never share your images without your permission first.

Do you Photoshop my images?Yes, your images will be edited for exposure and color balance. Non-permanent blemishes like acne and bruises will be edited out and your skin will be slightly smoothed. Other edits can be made at your request, like teeth whitening, and removal of cellulite and stretch marks. I can also do minor tuck-ins by request, but I will not drastically change your body shape or features.

Can I bring my partner or friend to my shoot?
I prefer to work with you one-on-one, but if you must bring someone make sure it’s your biggest cheerleader!
