What to expect:

Congratulations!! You have made it to your senior year of high school! Now it’s time to set up your Senior Portrait session! The most ideal time to schedule your session is from the end of September to early October, but spring and summer can be just as lovely! Make sure to allow ample time before booking, especially if you would like an October session.

When you book your Senior session, we will discuss any visions you may have, any props you may want to incorporate, and location ideas. Now is the time to also book any other appointments such as haircuts, makeup, manicures, etc.

Your session will take place around golden hour time (1-2 hours before sunset). When you arrive, we will say our hellos, go over outfit options, take a peek at any Pinterest boards, and talk about any visions you may have. Your session will last about an hour (sometimes longer), and you can have as many outfit changes as you’d like within the allotted time. We will start with some basic poses, and in no time, you will feel comfortable in front of the camera! Slay!

Outfits:

Ensure that your outfits are something you would typically wear. Now is not the time to wear that itchy wool sweater your grandma’s neighbor knitted for you just for your senior photos. Make sure your outfits are properly fitted, flattering, and comfortable. We will be sitting, kneeling, leaning, laying, and walking, so please keep that in mind when choosing your outfits. Try to stick to solid colors and avoid small stripes, as they can create a moiré effect that isn’t pleasant in print. Graphics can be distracting, so it’s best to avoid them, and neon colors tend to get overexposed. Please bring your outfits ironed and on hangers. Ladies, consider wearing a strapless nude bra to avoid straps peeking out.
Accessories can go a long way in making a statement. Think hats, scarves, bold necklaces, or big earrings that can be added and switched out.

Props:

Think of props that you would like to incorporate. Do you have any special interests, collections, sports, or other hobbies that you would like to include? This is a great opportunity to showcase your personality and add variety to your session.

Hygiene:

Keep in mind that your hands will be in the pictures! Make sure your nails are well-manicured. A neutral nail color is preferred, but if bold is more your style, then go for it! Guys, please trim up any facial hair, and don’t forget those eyebrows too!

Lastly, this session is all about YOU! If you want something, speak up! If you would feel more comfortable bringing a friend or significant other, please feel free to do so. Mom, if you tag along, please come prepared to jump into a photo at the end! You won’t regret it.

I can’t wait to meet you and see what kind of amazing things we create!
